Little Downham

Garden Transformation to Overcome Slope and Encourage Wildlife

The garden posed a challenge for the client due to a steep slope on one side, making it difficult to create a functional, comfortable outdoor space that also encouraged wildlife. To address this, the slope was regraded, and a raised bed was installed to serve as a retaining wall, stabilising the area and adding structure.

Next to the main patio, a wildlife pond was introduced, offering a peaceful water feature that attracts local wildlife. On the opposite side of the garden, a second seating area was created, providing a different perspective of the garden and enhancing the outdoor experience. This thoughtful design maximized the garden’s potential, balancing functional seating areas with wildlife-friendly features.

Project Highlights:

- Slope regraded and raised bed installed as a retaining wall
- Wildlife pond created next to the main patio
- Second seating area added for different garden views
