Mediterranean-Inspired Low-Maintenance Garden for a Second Home

For their second home, the clients sought a garden that was distinct from their traditional, tree-filled, flower-rich garden at their main residence. The goal was to create a low-maintenance outdoor space that still offered beauty and character.

The planting scheme was inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, incorporating drought-tolerant plants such as palms, lavender, and grasses that thrive in full sun. Given the garden’s exposure to sun throughout the day, a pergola was added over the terracotta patio to provide shade, enhancing comfort. The pergola was softened with grapevines, adding texture and a touch of natural elegance. This simple yet stylish design perfectly captured the clients’ desire for a relaxed, easy-to-care-for space.
